This W.G. MacFarlane patriotic postcard from Series 17, with the City of Calgary Crest, shows the street activity on Stephen Street in Calgary opposite the Hudson’s Bay Company store (with awnings on the right). The sender has annotated the card with text showing the location of his bank (at the left, with an “X” on the column supporting the bank’s entry arch.

The card was mailed to Denver, Colorado where it was received September 20, 1905. Since the stamp has been removed, only a partial cancellation remains from the city of origin, which is presumably Calgary.

Note the text “Lorne C. Wilson, Calgary” as the attributed publisher, in lieu of the W.G. MacFarlane attribution found on at least one card in this series. Below, the reverse of the card.
