Evangeline was a fictional character created by American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, written in English and published in 1847, from an epic poem entitled Evangeline, A Tale of Acadie. The poem follows an Acadian girl named Evangeline and her search for her lost love Gabriel, set during the time of the Expulsion of the Acadians.

I had a chance to visit Blomidon, pictured in the card above, in the fall of 2016. Nothing much has changed in over 100 years.
